Johnny Cash’s items to be auctioned

Los Angeles, Nov 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) An upcoming auction will feature more than 1,000 personal and non-personal items of the legendary Johnny Cash. Among the things that are being offered for sale in the upcoming auction is the legend’s expired credit cards and the famous jumpsuit that he wore during the rehearsal for his much talked about San Quentin prison performance.

The items will be offered to the public in Julien’s Auction in Los Angeles from the 5th of Dec. The items are estimated to fetch some $400,000 to $600,000. It will be available for the public to view them on the 19th of this month. Among the several items that are being offered for sale is Martin D-28 acoustic guitar, which has the signature of the singer.

The estimated amount for the items can however be exceeded. This is not the first time that items that once belonged to Cash are being offered for sale. In a 2004 auction, it was expected that the Johnny Cash items that were being offered for sale would fetch some $400,000 to $600,000 but it raked in some $4 million instead. Organizers of the auction have announced that part of the realized proceeds will be used to fund the MusiCares charity.
