Johnny Cash’s ‘American VI’ Album To Release On February

Johnny CashJan 14, (THAINDIAN NEWS) All the fans of legendary musician Johnny Cash have something really big to look forward to, as the songs which the iconic singer recorded during the final two years of his life, is going to be released next month. The album titled ‘American VI: Ain’t No Grave’ is all set to hit music stores from February 26, which marks the musical artists’ 78th birthday.

Anticipation regarding the upcoming album is running immensely high as it would feature an original track by the hugely acclaimed singer-songwriter “I Corinthians: 15:55,” which he wrote just three years prior to his death and has never been heard before. Moreover, the album would also include tracks by a host of other musical artists such as Kris Kristofferson’s “For the Good Times,” Bob Nolan’s “Cool Water,” Sheryl Crow’s “Redemption Day,” Ed McCurdy’s “Last Night I Had the Strangest Dream,” as well as Joe “Red” Hayes and Jack Rhodes’ “A Satisfied Mind,” among others. At the same time, the title track would have guest appearances by the pop duo Avett Brothers.

The upcoming album is being pitched as the last installment in the “American Recordings” series which were released by the musical genius in collaboration with producer Rick Rubin. The musical legends first posthumous album in the series “American V: A Hundred Highways,” was released in 2006 and it turned out to be a huge success as it topped the U.S pop album charts.

The first segment of the series was released way back in 1994 and provided a new leash of life to the legendary musician’s career, which was experiencing a low point during that period.
