Johnny Cash JumpsuitDec 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A blue embroidered jumpsuit that belonged to legendary country singer Johnny Cash was recently auctioned for $50,000. The auction which took place on Sunday is believed to have drawn almost ten times of what the organizers had actually thought of. The singer had worn the jumpsuit during his practice for his live “At San Quentin” album on the February of 1969. The jumpsuit was brought on December 5 by a collector from Belgium.

According to sources, Darren Julien, President and CEO of Julien’s Auctions, Beverly Hills was tight-lipped about the buyer refusing to announce his name. He did not give any other extra information apart from the fact that the buyer hails from the European nation of Belgium. Darren Julien further added that they had expected that the jumpsuit would be sold for $5,000 but ultimately the blue jumpsuit roped in a startling $50,000 from the European buyer. No doubt the great singer still rocks even after his death. His items are regarded as almost priceless. Along with the jumpsuit a signed Martin guitar which was owned by the late country singer also fetched in the same amount at the auction. These two items are reportedly the most expensive sell outs of the auction.

The jumpsuit that got auctioned rose to fame when it was captured in the frames earning the title “The Finger” where the singer is seen flicking a one-digit salute in front of the lenses while at the time of his rehearsals before the prisoners of San Quentin State Prison, California. Other items of his include a shirt that was sold for 31,250 dollars, an exclusive poster for 25,000 dollars, while his boots fetched almost 22,000 dollars.
