New York, June 30 (IANS) Musician John Mayer returned to a stand-up comedy club in New York, almost four years after his first outing as a comedian proved to be a flop show.
The Grammy Award winner, who has long entertained the idea of a stand-up sideline, earlier appeared at Comedy Cellar, New York in 2006 but his show wasn’t popular with the audience and critics accused him of racial slurs and sexism, reports nydailynews.com.
But this time the “Gravity” singer managed to do an entertaining 10 minutes of standup without making any racial slurs.
“(Mayer) was really nervous right before he went on and kept checking over his notes that he brought onstage,” said a source.
