London, Jan 3 (THAINDIAN NEWS) There is a new proud owner of the very suit that John Lennon had worn on the cover of the Beatles album “Abbey Road.”

The white suit was sold during an auction on Saturday and it fetched around $46,000. The new owner of the suit does not want to be named and as such the Braswell Galleries have decided to keep his name away.

The suit was designed by Ted Lapidus just for Lennon. It is a custom made suit.

The suit was amongst a group of Beatles’ memorabilia that were offered for sale to online buyers from around the world. During the auction, another buyer Hank Gioiella of Darien bought a green 1972 Chrysler for $5,500. The station wagon Chrysler which was rusted at the time of the auction was owned by Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono.

The Braswell Galleries every year organize the New Year’s Day auction, which the gallery says is their biggest sales event every year. The owner of the gallery - Kathy Braswell was speaking to the Connecticut Post and she seemed to suggest that the prices that the memorabilia fetched were fair under the circumstances.
