John Krasinski Among Front Runners To Play Captain America

jhonLos Angeles, Feb 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actor John Krasinski has emerged as one of the potential contenders who could be chosen to edge the role of superhero Captain America in the forthcoming action adventure “The First Avenger: Captain America”.

It has been reported that Marvel Studios is conducting screen tests this week to find the perfect face to play the role of the iconic superhero in its latest superhero flick. Apart from John Krasinski, “Gossip Girl” star Chace Crawford is also said to have been shortlisted to play the title role. The other probable contenders for the role include Michael Cassidy of “Smallville”, Patrick Flueger of “Brothers”, Scott Porter of “Friday Night Lights” and Mike Vogel of “Cloverfield”, Wilson Bethel of “Generation Kill”. It has come to light that Garret Hedlund of the “Tron Legacy” was also being considered for the role but is out of the competition for the time being due to scheduling conflicts although sources have indicated that he might make it to the test.

It has been revealed that the seven actors who are being considered for the role have either been auditioned or are likely to be tested at the company’s Manhattan beach, California head office. However, as of now all the fans of John Krasinski are surely keeping their fingers crossed so that “The Office” star is finally selected to play the legendary superhero in the Joe Johnston directed flick, which is expected to hit theaters on July, 2011. John Krasinski, who is best known for playing the role of Jim Halpert in the NBC sitcom “The Office”, has also starred in several other movies.
