John Cusack and Rob Corddry have jumped into the “Hot Tub”. The stars are due to star in the Hot Tub Time Machine, a comedy film by MGM, to be directed by Steve Pink. Pink has written other Cusack films, including High Fidelity and Grosse Pointe Blank and is said to be still working on the script with Josh Heald. Shooting begins in Vancouver on April 20.
Clark Duke is also on final negotiations to join the film’s cast. Craig Robinson (”The Office”, “East Bound” and “Down”) is also slated to join the cast. Cusack is also the producer of the film via New Crime, his movie production company, along with partner Grace Loh. Matt Moore is also a producer.
The film follows a group of boys who are tired of the smoky march mayhem of their lives and return to the ski lodge where they partied as teens. They get into a hot tub, which, they do not know, is a time machine. It takes them back to 1987 and hilarious events follow. Cusack, Corddry and Robinson are the three friends and Duke plays Cusack’s younger brother.
Cusack, represented by WMA, also has “Shanghai” and “2012″ lined up for him. Corddry, represented by Endeavor and Principato/Young was last seen in “W” and “Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay.” Robinson, represented by UTA and 3Arts Entertainment, is known best for his role in NBC’s “The Office” where he played Darryl, the storeman. He also starred in “Zack and Miri Make a Porno”. Duke, represented by Endeavor and Generate, starred in “Sex Drive.”
