John Cleese wishes for his ex-wife to be abducted by aliens
January 26th, 2011 - 5:30 pm ICT by ANILondon, Jan 26 (ANI): English comedian John Cleese has revealed that even though he is now happily in love with another woman, he still wishes for his ex-wife to be abducted by aliens.
Cleese, 71, who is currently dating jewellery designer Jennifer Wade, has had to return to the theatre to help pay off his 12.3 million pounds divorce settlement from third wife Alice Faye Eichelberger.
He has already sold off properties - including a beach house, a 15-acre ranch in California, a flat in New York and a house in London - to help fund the settlement.
His show, suitably entitled ‘John Cleese’s Alimony Tour’, does not discuss his divorce, but he does joke about the “ludicrous state of marital law in California” and of Eichelberger enjoying his money.
“I haven’t spoken to her since we broke up. Alyce Faye always said that if we ever split up we would never speak to each other again, and she was right about that,” the Daily Mail quoted him as saying.
“I feel very cross some times when I’m packing a suitcase to go to yet another place to film a job I’m not really interested in, and I hear she’s on a month-long cruise around China.
“When I met her she was living in a council flat in London. She didn’t bring anything into the relationship. We didn’t have children together and I even put her sons through university.
“I have several things I want to write about, but that’s not going to happen at the moment unless Alyce Faye gets kidnapped by aliens and taken off to another universe.
“I’ve been trying to contact aliens, but so far I haven’t had any success,” he added. (ANI)
