Nov 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Randy Queen’s “Darkchylde”, will now be made into a movie. The movie is said to be directed by the critically acclaimed horror movie director, John Carpenter. John Carpenter earned his fame and recognition by directing two cult horror pictures like “Halloween” and “The Thing”.
“Darkchylde” is a comic series about a southern teenager girl Ariel Chylde, who is cursed to become a creature from her repetitive nightmares. The girl, who is otherwise good-hearted is bugged by the curse which she cannot combat. Every time she undergoes a transformation, she sheds her skin. This is also accompanied by the emergence of a new nightmare which takes the form of her deepest, darkest impulses. The character, which has been confined into our comics, would be quite exciting to watch on the silver screen. Director John Carpenter feels that it would be a bigger challenge for him, to get the character alive and make it relevant to the audience on a virtual platform. On the other hand, Randy Queen has full confidence on the director and knows that he would be able to do justice with it. According to her, Josh Carpenter would be able to give beautiful dreamscapes and the multiple transformation required in the film. She has no problem with his new endeavor as to her Josh Carpenter is a genius and can only make Ariel Chylde more popular.
John Carpenter and his producing partner Sandy King have made an alliance with Randy Queen and Sarah Queen, so that film does not lose its authenticity. The team has hired Richard Taylor and the Weta Workshop to impart the special effects. The film is still in its pre-production stage and its releasing date has not yet been fixed.
