Johansson may be ’shooed in’ for ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ role
August 16th, 2010 - 4:53 pm ICT by ANINew York, Aug 16 (ANI): Although David Fincher claimed he wanted an unknown actor to play the lead role in his flick ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’, it seems he is considering Scarlett Johansson for the role.
According to New York Daily News sources, Johansson auditioned for Fincher in L.A., and the director and his team were “very impressed” with the curvaceous beauty.
Johansson was told to come prepared with an accent for the Swedish character of Lisbeth Salander, the hard-boiled, bisexual central character.
Sources also said that if Fincher doesn’t go with an unknown, Johansson is a “shoo-in” for the role of Lisbeth, especially since production is reportedly slated to begin just after Labour Day.
Earlier, Fincher had eliminated all of the big names he originally had on his casting wish list, including Carey Mulligan, Ellen Page and Natalie Portman.
Whoever wins this role will also be in line for the next two sequels of Larssson’s three-novel ‘Millennium’ trilogy. (ANI)
