joe Los Angeles, Jan 31 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Late King of Pop Michael Jackson’s father Joe Jackson had filed a claim in court that he doesn’t have an adequate income of his own, so he ought to get an allowance from the late singer’s estate. However he will have to wait till May, for his case to be decided. He had filed the claim in November 2009, that he ought to get a stipend of around $15,000 per month.

The court documents said that Joe Jackson wanted the cash to cover “maintenance expenses” and to “support his children or grandchildren”. However the administrators of Michael Jackson’s estate John Branca and John McClain were not amused, and they filed documents opposing the move. The case was discussed in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday 28th January 2010, and the judge Mitchell Beckloff decided the preliminary hearing for the 26th of May 2010. Lawyer Margaret Lodise represents Michael Jackson’s children, and she has expressed concern that Joe shouldn’t get the stipend because he “isn’t a beneficiary of the estate.”

It may be recalled that the pop legend Michael Jackson passed away in June, suspected of a drug overdose. And he had left his estate in the hands of John Branca and John McClain in the event of his death.
