At the red carpet of the BET awards 2009 that was paying a tribute to Michael Jackson, MJ’s father, Joe Jackson was found busy promoting his new record level rather than talking about the sad demise of his son. This incident has no doubt horrified the other members of the Jackson family, besides the fans. Adorned in a black fedora and and over sized sunglass, it was indeed astonishing to find Joe Jackson at the red carpet just four days after the death of his son.

Being interviewed by John Lennon of CNN, Joe was initially hesitant to talk about MJ owing to which he made his PR read a prepared statement about the family’s feeling on MJ’s death. He then jumped into promoting his record label that is mainly associated with the recording of live concerts and Blu-ray technology. When asked about Michael’s mother Katherine and his other siblings, Joe added, “They are are all doing fine” and immediately went on to say,”this is a real good statement here! Marshall and me own a record label called Ranch Records.” But to many, this wasn’t much too surprising as Michael in many of his interviews said that he was subjected to abuse and torture by his father during his childhood.

Joe Jackson had been hard on the Jackson siblings who performed as a group named Jackson 5 and also played a role to make MJ a star since childhood. Recently, it has been known that MJ has left nothing for his father in his will giving all to his mother, three children and several charities.
