Aug 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Hewlett-Packard CEO Mark Hurd’s resignation last Friday startled the whole business world. The reason for his resignation was a woman’s sexual harassment allegations against him. The HP officials investigated the matter and found out that the former CEO filed inaccurate expense reports to hide her identity and his relationship with her. However, after the shocking resignation, the woman concerned, Jodie Fisher came to the lime light by releasing a statement through her lawyer Gloria Allred where she said that she regrets the dismissal of former CEO.
Jodie Fisher wrote a letter to the board of directors of HP where she said that Mark Hurd sexually harassed her during the marketing activity of the company. However, in the statement which was released last Sunday she said that she was “surprised” and “saddened” by the departure of the former CEO as it was never her intention. The HP officials reported that Mark Hurd did not violate the company policy regarding sexual harassment but the expense irregularities triggered his exit from the company. The media reports that the total amount involved in the falsified expense is around $20,000.
Gloria Allred said that Jodie Fisher is a single mother and she had recently worked as the vice president of a commercial real estate firm. Jodie Fisher, who appeared in NBC’s “Age Of Love” in 2007 said that she never had any “intimate” relationship with Mark Hurd. She also said that she had resolved her claim with the former CEO “privately” outside court. The media reported that Mark Hurd reached a settlement with her on Thursday but the amount of the settlement is still unknown.
