Sep 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Casey Affleck who had been in news lately regarding his documentary film “I’m still here”, and the controversy surrounding him for making unwelcome sexual advances towards one of his female crew members who had to leave during the project is in the news once again. The actor said in an interview that the documentary film ‘I’m still here’ about Joaquin Phoenix’s drugged out attempt to break into rap was officially a hoax.
He went to say that the legendary interview of Joaquin Phoenix on “The Late Show With David Letterman” was a part of the act. The whole thing about him starting a rap career and then do a bunch of drugs only to fall apart is a hoax. Casey Affleck praised the acting of Joaquin Phoenix as an aspiring star on the brink of ruin. The supposed documentary now turns out to be a Mockumentary. Though critics are not happy and they are certainly not piling Casey Affleck with praise.
The making of the documentary film took over a years time and documents Joaquin’s Phoenix life from his announcement in 2008 of retiring from his film career to embark on a career in rap as a hip-hop musician. The director claims that the idea of cheating anyone did not come in his head and he never intended tricking anyone. Joaquin Phoenix is well known for his acting in Gladiator and walk the line for which he got an Oscar. The film was released on September 17 to great skepticism from critics many of whom had claimed the film to be a hoax from the start.
