- “When I saw them standing there on stage I thought, ‘God I love a man in a kilt.’ I married one after all,” the Mirror quoted her, as saying.
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and wife Sarah handed over the Special Recognition Award to Glasgow heroes John Smeaton, Stephen Clarkson, Alex McIlveen and Michael Kerr.
Rowling also broke down at the London Studios held ceremony while presenting Megan Blunt with her Child of Courage Award.
Wiping her tears, the best-seller author praised the 15-year-old cancer survivor, who has written a book to motivate other children living with the disease.
“I want to give you this and I want to say if ever a book changed lives, it’s yours,” she said.
The writer burst into tears again when the star of Harry Potter film series, Emma Watson presented the writer with her own Special Recognition Award. (ANI)
