Aug 30 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Prime Time Emmy Awards Show which aired last night featured several dedications, to actors and actresses we had lost during the year, musical remembrances of “The Year in Drama” and “The Year in Reality” along with others including a hilarious musical ensemble by Jimmy Fallon in memory of all of the shows which ended in 2010.

The always lovely Betty White won her 5th Emmy Award on August 21 for her appearance oin Saturday Night Live. It was her 16th nomination for the award. She won her very first Emmy in 1952, and she recently expressed her feeling when she won that night, “Most of what I can resurrect about that evening in 1952 was the total shock I felt when I won and Zsa Zsa Gabor lost,” she told the “Hollywood Reporter”.

But her recent nomination was apparently just as shocking, as she said, “I’ve won six Emmys and you never get used to it. I got nominated again this year for outstanding guest star for Saturday Night Live and I’m thrilled! My friend Tina Fey is nominated in my category too and she sent me this big bouquet of roses and tulips and a card.’Dear Betty,’ it said, “Congratulations on your nomination. Please try to mention my name in your acceptance speech.”

Betty White was chosen to host ‘Saturday Night Live’ after a fan started a Facebook page which quickly had thousands of request for the favored actress to do the show. When she heard of the Facebook movement in her favor she joked,” I didn’t even know what Facebook was, and now that I do it seems like an awful waste of time!” Time that led to then winning of yet another Emmy.
