May 5, (THAINDIAN NEWS) All Jimmy Fallon fans out there take note. The noted stand up comedy artist who is known for his appearance in the NBC sketch comedy show “Saturday Night Live” is all set to host this year’s Emmy Awards. According to latest reports, this time the Emmy Awards would reach its 62nd year and is scheduled to take place later in the month of August.

As per the reports that have surfaced, in order to assume the hosting duties of the much anticipated award ceremony the “Late Night” presenter had to leave behind fellow SNL star Amy Poehler, who is said to have been a close contender for the position of the presenter of the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards. At the same time, it was also being speculated that Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake were the other two names that had come up in this regard. However, the television academy and NBC network confirmed on Tuesday that Jimmy Fallon would be presenting this year’s award ceremony. While reacting to the choice of the “Late Night” host as the Primetime Emmy Awards presenter, NBC executive Paul Telegdy stated to news sources that Jimmy Fallon was the natural choice as he has emerged as one of the most entertaining and promising entertainers of the recent times.

In the meanwhile, the opportunity must be all the more special for Jimmy Fallon as the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards would provide him the chance to display his skills on one of the biggest night’s of television. As of now, all the fans of the comedy artist are eagerly waiting to catch their favourite star’s stint at the much awaited award ceremony.
