New York City, Oct 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The CBS sportscaster Jim Nantz is divorcing his wife, Lorrie Nantz. The couple has been married for a long period of 26 years. The fifty-year-old Jim Nantz earnings are potentially above $7 million yearly.

Jim Nantz said the reason for their marriage break down was due to Lorrie’s over spending, and her lack of support for his broadcasting career. Nantz said he now has a new girlfriend whom he met in May 2008. It is claimed that Lorrie spent $1 million over a 9-year period just on shopping alone.

Jim Nantz announced that he had his affair only after accepting that his marriage had already broken down without repair. Though Lorrie countered that statement, saying that she was seeing a marriage counselor until 2008 in an attempt to save their marriage, while he was indulging in an affair.

Mrs. Nantz is demanding $1.5 million per year in child support for their 15-year-old daughter, and to stay in the family home in Westport, Conn.

Jim’s claims of Lorrie’s lavish spending have a lot of substance. Connecticut Post that she spent almost $1 million at clothing and jewelry stores in Westport over nine years. She also bought a $12,000 necklace last month, though she did not remember the details of the purchase, telling the court “I think it has some sort of stone.”
