Florida, Dec 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Florida Board of Executive Clemency (FBEC) has decided to official pardon the lead singer of ‘The Doors’. It may be recalled that he was charged with ‘indecent exposure and open profanity’ many years earlier. The official pardon came from none other than the Florida Governor Charlie Crist.
Charlie Crist said that, “What I do know is that if someone hasn’t committed a crime, that should be recognized. We live in a civil society that understands that lasting legacy of a human being, and maybe the last act for which they may be known, is something that never occurred in the first place, it’s never a bad idea to try to right a wrong.”
However Jim Morrison’s widow – Patricia Kennealy Morrison wasn’t pleased with the official pardon at all, because she felt that he had done nothing wrong in the first place. She said that even though she was against the idea of the official pardon, yet she wasn’t surprised when it was granted because the Jim’s fans were pressurizing for the pardon.
According to CNN, Patricia Kennealy Morrison said that she isn’t surprised at the official pardon because the trial was nothing more than a publicity stunt. She also added that Jim’s record ought to have been expunged.
