Jim Morrison’s Widow Against Pardon Of Indecent Exposure Conviction

doors_21Dec 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Patricia Kennealy Morrison has told the media that her late husband, the iconic ‘Doors’ frontman Jim Morrison, would not have wanted to be pardoned for the indecent exposure in 1969. Patricia Kennealy Morrison has claimed that she was married to Jim Morrison in a pagan ceremony but she never actually put that in the books. She has slammed the decision of the authorities and feels that the conviction should have been expunged or the verdict overturned as fraud. In spite of her opposing the pardon, the surviving members of the ‘Doors’ have shown support for the decision.

Patricia Kennealy Morrison said that the decision to pardon Jim Morrison for the conviction in 1969 was a cheap political ploy. Gov. Chris Cristie who has been a part of the process and was supportive of the pardon. He felt that the conviction did not have strong enough grounds and was a blot in the otherwise illustrious career of the singer and poet.

Patricia Kennealy Morrison said that she has serious problems with the semantics of a pardon and felt that it negated all the pain and suffering that she and Jim Morrison went through during the trial. The singer passed away after appealing the conviction. Patricia Kennealy Morrison also added that the conviction led to his and the group’s demise. Jim Morrison was convicted for indecent exposure during a concert in Miami. Some of the people who witnessed the rather wild concert claim that Jim Morrison had exposed his penis on stage. The people who support the pardon or overturn of the conviction say that he merely made the action to do so but never really exposed himself.
