Jewelry Owned by Anne Hathaway To Be Sold At Government Auction

June 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jewelry which was owned by Anne Hathaway is soon to be auctioned off by the government, since the goods were purchased with money which was gotten from illegal activities. The United States government will keep the proceeds from the sale of these items, which were given to Hathaway by her ex-boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri.
Anna Hathaway handed the jewelry over to the authorities after breaking up with Follieri when she realized that the items were the ill gotten gains of an elaborate con which he had carried out. In his property scam, which has been nicknamed “Vati-con” Follieri managed to swindled millions of dollars from investors by claiming that he had connections to the Vatican, so that he had access to church property sales in America. He is now serving a four and a half year prison term for his actions.
The group of items which are being sold include 13 watches, including Rolex’s, a figurine by Cartier a Tiffany clock which was seized Follieri’s home, and several different items of jewelry, among which was chandelier earrings look to be flowing with diamonds and other precious stones. The total value of the loot was not disclosed.
