London, August 01 (ANI): American singer Jessica Simpson’s footballer boyfriend has cancelled his plans of enrolling in a business program at the University of Pennsylvania, as he wants to stay close to the singer in Los Angeles.

The 30-year-old singer’s beau, former Australian footballer Eric Johnson, has called off his plan of pursuing a business program so that he can stay close to the ‘Irresistible’ singer.

Simpson and Johnson started going out May 2010 and they recently celebrated Simpson’s 30th birthday with a vacation in Italy, accompanied by her family.

Their relationship is working out so well that Johnson has decided not to move to the University of Pennsylvania to begin a two-year course at the prestigious Wharton school in August 2010, reports The Daily Express.

“He doesn’t want to move to Philadelphia and leave her so soon after they got together. He really wants to be with Jessica,” a source told the Us Weekly magazine. (ANI)
