The media outlets reported that the couple got engaged last Thursday. Jessica Simpson was photographed wearing her engagement ring at Dillard’s department store in Kansas City. The blonde beauty’s ex-husband Nick Lachey, who got engaged to Vanessa Minnillo last week congratulated her for her engagement. However, the gossip sites are abuzz speculating whose ring is better than the other.

Eric Johnson proposed to Jessica Simpson with Neil Lane designed engagement ring. The designer told a reputed media source in one of the interviews that the NFL player wanted the most beautiful, romantic and special ring for Jessica Simpson. Neil Lane said that the ring is made up of three stones with a large central ruby which is over 5 carats. The designer sad that the diamonds are also more than 5 carats and all the gems in the ring “represents love”. A source close to Jessica Simpson said that the singer cum actress was “thrilled” and total surprised by the engagement ring.

Jessica Simpson’s ex-husband Nick Lachey said that he wishes Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson all the best in their lives. However, he also added that h is still basking in the glow of his own plans to marry his fiance Vanessa Minnillo and enjoying this phase of life. When asked why h took so much time to propose his girlfriend, he replied that everything in life has its own time and when the right time came, he proposed to Vanessa Minnillo. Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson married in 2002 and later in 2006 the couple parted ways.
