Now this is what we would call a “starry” coincidence. Its just been days that Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo decided to part ways and now we have some news that Jessica’s ex-husband Nick Lachey and his girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo have split too.

According to quite a few online site’s reports, Jessica Simpson and the Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo have split on Thursday, just a day before Jessica’s 29th birthday, which was on July 10th. A source has told People.com, “She loves Tony. But its been difficult lately. He’s busy with his career and she’s getting ready to shoot her show (The Price of Beauty). They decided to part ways.” A rep for Simpson neither accepted nor denied the story, when asked.

The couple had been dating each other since November of 2007. The relationship had kicked off after Jessica had heard Tony tell a sportscaster that she was his celebrity crush. They have been going steady ever since. According to reports by People.com, Romo had been spotted partying at Los Angeles nightclub “My House”. A source has reportedly told the site, “He had quite a few girls stop by his dance floor table.” Romo was supposedly having a great time in the ‘boys night out’ and was seen sipping Grey Goose.

Jessica is supposed to have canceled her birthday party because of the split. It had earlier been reported that she was planning to have a birthday bash on the theme of Barbie and Ken. After the break up, Jessica seems to have hit Twitter with a vengeance. She has reportedly Twitted, “Barbie party didn’t happen, but i turned 29 and feel like I am on top of the world yelling I love getting older.” Later she chipped with the Tweet, “The beat of a heart can make you realize the special rhythm of a person..just listen. I like the irregular beat; it sends me to another place..Everyone needs to know that hope floats..grab the strings and pull it back to you.”
