jesseMay 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Tom Selleck returned to television once more with the beloved policeman, Jesse Stone. With the latest installation of the popular serial, ‘Jesse Stone: No Remorse,’ Tom Selleck makes his sixth venture into the world of the policeman, created by Robert Parker. In fact, the latest film on the lawman, which aired on CBS on Sunday, May 9, is actually being hailed as a tribute to the late author, who passed away while the shooting for the film was in progress. According to reports, Robert Parker had been able to see the complete film before he passed away of a heart attack in January, although he had not been involved in the process of production.

In ‘Jesse Stone: No Remorse,’ the film begins with the news that the eponymous policeman has been put on suspension for a certain period of time. The cause, as it turns out very predictably, is women and drinking, two vices which continually come in the way of his razor sharp intellect and a nose for finding criminals. However, at this very point of time there happens some gruesome murders at a convenience store, which, although it intrigues him very much, Jesse Stone can do nothing about.

Jesse Stone’s helplessness issues from the fact that he is not allowed to come in contact with the others in his department, played to perfection by Kohl Sudduth and Kathy Baker. He is then employed as a civilian help in a case in Boston, only to realize that it is related, in some way, to the murders in his very own Paradise City. The other actors to star in the film are Saul Rubinek, William Sadler and Stephen McHattie among others.
