Los Angeles, Jan 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The premiere of MTV’s hit show “Jersey Show” made a record.

The first episode of the show’s second season aired on Thursday and according to TV statistic company, Nielsen, there were 8.4 million viewers when the show premiered. That is the most viewers that have tuned in to watch a reality show on MTV.

Cast member Jenni “J-WOWW” Farley took to Twitter after realizing the numbers. She tweeted that, “OmG! Jersey Shore 3 broke Mtv records for reality show ratings last night!! 8.5 on the neilsen! Thank you to all.” Snooki also expressed similar sentiments on her Twitter page. They can’t hide their joy that they made a record possible.

The show has been highly successful after all the controversy that surrounded the show’s first season. The hype seemed to have helped the program because more viewers got curious and watched the show’s premier.

There were series of changes to the show this season. Controversial Angelina is out of this season’s show. That cannot be said for certain though because the show is full of surprises.

MTV recorded the highest number of viewers from a show in September when 6.7 million viewers tuned in.
