Dec. 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The cast mates of MTV’s brand new reality show have pulled off a brilliant spoof of the show. The show features eight young men and women, Italian-American by origin and in or around their twenties, spending a month in the famous Jersey Shore. The show has gained enough controversy ever since it has come on air, at first for some display of physical violence on the show, and later on, for its ignominious portrayal of Italian Americans. Despite it all, the show has achieved huge popularity in the few days that it has been on air.

In fact, the very spoof pulled off by the cast members may be an attempt to counter the negative criticism that the show has been facing. The spoof is well directed, aiming at good humored raillery of the characters and their various mannerisms. It is in the form of a short play, in the backdrop of a hotel room. The play opens with the Situation and Snooki sitting in the room, recalling their experiences in the night out.

Even as Situation lapses into his incessant monologue about his steel abs, he drops off, claiming that he cannot keep up the image any longer. More hilarious raillery follows, with the entry of Pauly D, who goads Situation to keep up his spirits. All in all, the spoof is just a hilarious insight of the kind of show “Jersey Shore” would be if all the accents and confidence went missing from the contestants’ demeanor. The best performance was delivered by Situation in this “Funny Or Die” video.
