Jerry Seinfeld to replace Conan O’Brien on ‘The Tonight Show’ ?

Conan O Brien New York City, Dec 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) There is mounting speculation that Jerry Seinfeld is set to replace Conan O’Brien on ‘The Tonight Show’. This is because Conan O’Brien’s ratings have been steadily slipping in the recent months, and NBC has now been forced to take some drastic steps to rectify the situation.

According to reports, the NBC executives are looking around to get another funny guy to replace the dropping-popularity-Conan O’Brien. And there are unconfirmed reports that Jerry Seinfeld is being roped in for the show. He earlier had a hit show on NBC for almost a decade.

A source says, “NBC just can’t carry on like this. ‘The Tonight Show’ has lost 52 percent of its viewership in just one year. The November ratings will be the show’s lowest in 15 years. They would be idiots to not be having the replacement conversation.”

However Conan O’Brien’s representative are denying the speculation out-right. NBC spokesperson Drew Shane said that, “Completely false. There are no conversations happening. Conan is the host of the ‘Tonight Show.’”

Jerome Allen “Jerry” Seinfeld was born on April 29, 1954. He is an American comedian, actor and writer, whose style is often described as observational comedy. He is famous for playing a semi-fictional version of himself in the situation comedy Seinfeld (1989–1998), which he co-created and co-wrote and, in the show’s final two seasons, also co-executive-produced.

i loved johnny carson to no end he made the show, jay leno did a fine job on the tonight show, im sorry to say conan just isnt funny, hes is too hung up on himself and it shows, as for nbc they have taken away too many good shows i lived for deal or no deal, i really am disappointed in them taking it away, it was a nice evening game show. i don’t like the 1/2 hour version at all i wish nbc would get it back on again

NBC needs some new blood when it comes to programming. Somebody is making a LOT of bad decisions. We are not living in the stone age any longer.

  3. N Says:

I wonder if the decline in viewers has anything to do with the biased news from NBC…

  4. k Says:

I refuse to watch Conan. He thinks he is all that when he can not even come close to Leno. If I watch late night I watch Letterman. Good riddance to Conan…

  5. J Says:

Conan has the personality of a rubber fish. I watched the tonight show every night and dreaded the day when Conan took over. I have not watched it since and will not do so again until he is gone. NBC needs to wake up, whomever is making the decisions to cut shows and change programming should be fired, you’re losing your audience!

  6. Julie Says:

I love Conan. I have seen him three times in his New York location. He is hilarious, friendly to the audience and also is very off-the-cuff. He deserves the show, and I believe once he finds an earlier audience, he will be appreciated.

  7. B Says:

Conan is not lowest common denominator enough for this timeslot. His show was watered down for the lowbrow Tonight Show audience. Leno and his face made for radio should have been banished for good but now his stench of a show is still with us. The networks know nothing of developing a show for the long haul. Their pea brains only understand a quick ejaculation of high ratings. Leno is for tards.

I hope Conan never leaves the Tonight show. Since he has taken over i have no reason to stay up after the news and go to bed earlier every night. Years ago when he took over the late show I started hitting the sack after the Tonight show was over. In my opnion Conan is a great reason to get a good nights sleep.

  9. cyn! Says:

Conan got screwed by Leno coming back to basically do the ‘tonight show’ an hour earlier. Conan’s always been funny, still is funny, and way better than Leno.

  10. Jim Says:

Wow. Bad just went to worse. Seinfeld would be absolutely nothing without the writers of his show. That entire cast (aside from maybe “Kramer”) had the collective personality of a poached salmon.

  11. AB Says:

When I heard Conan was going to take over from Jay Leno I thought to myself , ain’t no way … they will sign someone … anyone but Conan but NBC signed him and as you can see they got what they paid for. btw , is Conan getting paid ?

  12. Cody Says:

Leno is not funny at all. Conan is the all time greatest. Funniest guy ive ever seen. I know me and alot of other people will stop watching the show if they put on anyone but Conan. If the ratings truly are slipping ever think it could be other reasons? People do not watch TV as much anymore, especially at 11:30 at night, i think they should move it to 10:30 or 11.

  13. John Says:

watched Leno for years and loved his show, but when Conan took over I stopped watching after a few shows. When Leno returned in his earlier slot I watched him but this show isn’t like Tonight it stinks, so I now watch neither. I now watch Letterman and Jimmy Fallon. Wake up NBC!!!!

  14. BILL WINANS Says:

I hated it when they took off Leno on the tonight show. WHY?. Conan is funny for himself. I think you shour return Leno to the show and Put Jerry Sienfeld on the prime time show. Can’t stand Letterman either So I usually look for a movie on Cable channel.

  15. Sean Says:

Jay leno is a lost cause. Hes not even close to being funny. Seinfeld is worse. Hes an absolute idiot, unfunny, stuffy, retarded, and boring. Conan on the other hand is one of the funniest comedians on television today! I hope Conan stays.

  16. Raymond R Says:

I watched the Tonight Show with Carson, then Leno every night religiously. Conan’s fraternity jokes, just doesn’t connect with a mature audience. I say move Leno back to the Tonight Show, and let Jerry Seinfeld follow him at 11:30 PM
