Jerry SeinfeldJerry Seinfeld, the veteran comedian is returning to the US television after 11 years as producer of a reality show based on marriage disputes, reports said on Thursday.

Jerry Seinfeld, one of the highest paid performer among the television show for his long-running sitcom Seinfeld that last aired in 1998, will oversee production of reality series ‘The Marriage Ref’ report said.

The series will be featuring celebrities, comedians and sports stars offering advice to real-life couples battling marital disputes.

‘This is not a therapy show, it’s a comedy show,’ said Seinfeld. ‘After nine years of marriage, I have discovered that the comedic potential of this subject is quite rich.’

NBC Entertainment chief Ben Silverman said Seinfeld had convinced executives to give the green light to the project after making a pitch in person.

‘As Jerry noted, some of the greatest comedies in history have been about marriage,’ Silverman said.

Apart from an appearance in 2007’s animated film ‘Bee Movie’ Seinfeld, has largely shunned the spotlight since the curtain came down on his beloved sitcom in 1998 after nine seasons.
