The Guitar Man of country music and actor - Jerry Reed has died 0n August 1, at the age of 71 of emphysema, creates major loss of country music.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia. He started his record at the age of 18, later he became a Grammy award-winning musician and tour guitarist.
In the mid 1970, he grouped together with friend and actor Burt Reynolds, appeared in the three “Smokey and the Bandit” movies as Reynolds’ truck-driving sidekick “The Snowman”.
In 1998 , Reed later starred in movie “The Waterboy” as Coach Red Beaulieu with Adam Sandler. He also played with country star Chet Atkins and was a regular on the “Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour“.
He wrote the hit song “East Bound and Down” from the first movie. He also wrote songs of Elvis Presley’s biggest hits “U.S. Male” and “Guitar Man” and developed a finger style guitar technique. Some of the songs by Johnny Cash, Brenda Lee and many others also written by Reed.
Throughout his life, Reed has released over 40 albums.
