Jennifer Nettles Performed In 32nd Kennedy Center Honors Ceremony

Dec 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Noted country singer Jennifer Nettles enthralled the listeners at the 32nd Yearly Kennedy Center Honors, that took place at Washington D.C. on Dec. 6, 2009. The singer who is in her mid thirties, sang the evergreen tracks of Rock artist Bruce Springsteen. The first lady of USA, Michelle Obama was present along with the President, for the occasion.
Interestingly, Bruce Springsteen was among the honorees in the ceremony. Jennifer Nettles is now the latest country singer who performed for the first couple of USA. She sang a medley with Ben Harper, that included compositions like “Glory Days”, “My Father’s House”- as a tribute to legendary artist Bruce Springsteen. Her performance was highly appreciated by the attendees in the ceremony. Her vocal skill was admired by all present in the ceremony.
The event was attended by some of the bigwigs of Hollywood and Broadway, including maverick director Martin Scorsese, Stalwart actor Robert De Niro and veteran actress Meryl Streep. They spoke about the honorees and their contributions to movie and music.
The singer has won Grammy award and won accolades for her performance in Sugarland as the lead vocalist. She set up the Jennifer Nettles Band in 1999 and did 2 live albums as well as three studio albums with it. Later, Jennifer Nettles joined hands with Kristian Bush and Kristen Hall to form a group named Sugarland, which became immensely successful. Jennifer Nettles is a talented singer and also has plans to do a part in a Broadway production sometimes. Apart from singing, Jennifer Nettles also spends some time in charitable activities.
