Jennifer Lopez Sep 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) According to Deadline Hollywood, singer Jennifer Lopez is being paid a whooping $12 million to judge the musical reality show American Idol.

According to reports, the singer-actress wanted $15 million to appear on the show, but ultimately she had to settle for $12 million. And besides the $15 million payout, she also wanted some other lucrative deals like a Hollywood movie and some TV pilots as well. In order to show that she was serious about her demands, she had refused to negotiate in the beginning and also walked out of the meetings, when the producers failed to tow to her demands. However later when she learned that the producers were thinking about other celebrities to be on the judging panel, then she was back and gladly accepted the $12 million deal without any starry tantrums.

According to Deadline Hollywood, a source said that, “In the old days, these were called a ‘vanity deal’ for good reason. They simply don’t exist today. I think it was just positioning. In the end, she didn’t turn up her nose up at $12 million. I would have been very surprised if she had walked away.”

There were also reports that Jennifer Lopez was miffed when she heard reports that the producers were thinking about offering one of the judging spots to Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler.
