Jennifer Lawrence to announce Oscar nominations

London, Jan 11 (IANS) American actress Jennifer Lawrence will announce the nominations for 84th Academy Awards later this month.
The 21-year-old, who was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in “Winter’s Bone” last year, will host the nominations event alongside Academy president Tom Sherak at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater Jan 24 in Beverly Hills in Los Angeles county.
According to contactmusic.com, the announcement of 10 of the 24 categories will be made at 5:30 a.m. PST (Pacific Standard Time).
Among the expected nominations are Meryl Streep for her performance of Margaret Thatcher in “The Iron Lady” and Michelle Williams for portraying screen siren Marilyn Monroe in “My Week with Marilyn”.
The 84th Academy Awards will be held Feb 26 and will be hosted by Billy Crystal.
