Aug 12 (IBNS) Academy Award-winner and Chicago native Jennifer Hudson ‘feels divine’ after getting the blessed event on Monday night with the advent of a baby boy from her womb.

“Motherhood makes you feel divine,” Hudson is reported to have told a close aide, while fondling her two-day-old baby on Wednesday.

The boy — named David Daniel Otunga Jr., after his father, Hudson’s fiancé — weighed in at a healthy seven pounds, 14 ounces, sources said. The couple, not sure about baby’s gender in advance, bought both pink and blue clothes.

It may be mentioned that in May, she celebrated her pregnancy with a baby shower in downtown Chicago.

Hudson and her powerhouse vocals shot to fame when she was a contestant on “American Idol.” After she was eliminated from the show early on, she was cast as Effie White in “Dreamgirls,” a powerhouse performance that won her an Oscar.

In October 2008, her sister’s estranged husband was arrested and charged with killing her mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew. Hudson moved from Chicago after the tragedy.

Hudson’s pregnancy has been an unusual one for a star. For one thing, she never announced it. She simply turned up “showing” at a concert last winter and let the fans speculate for themselves.
