Jennifer Ellison breaks wrist in piano accident
September 19th, 2011 - 9:50 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLondon, Sept 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) With just 30 minutes left for the curtains to go up during a concert at the Sunderland Empire on Wednesday night, actress Jennifer Ellison was injured in a bizarre piano accident. According to witnesses, Ellison underestimated the mass of the instrument and paid for it.
The British newspaper Daily Mail reported that with half an hour for the curtains to be lifted at the Calendar Girls concert, things became a mess at the back of the curtains and as the piano was falling, Ellison tried to be the hero and blocked it with her hand.
An insider said that, “It was chaos because it all happened just half an hour before the curtain went up. The piano began tipping over and Jennifer bravely tried to stop it but she didn’t stand a chance. Everyone knows it weighs a ton because they have to move the thing around from theatre to theatre.”
That turned out to be a bad idea because she broke her wrist and missed the performance that night. On Sunday, she was spotted wearing a cast as she stepped out. Although she tried to cover the injury with her handbag, it was still clear that she had been treated for fracture.
The spokesperson of Ellison announced on Sunday that she is back at work.
