Jennifer Aniston To Feature As A Guest Star In ‘Cougar Town’

cox August 24, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The American Network ABC has announced that Jennifer Aniston will be playing a guest role in ‘Cougar Town’. She gets a chance to reunite with her ‘Friends’ co star Courtney Cox again.

The show will see her playing Cox’s therapist in the second season. Cox will be shown as a woman chasing two younger men. ‘Cougar Town’ is all set to premiere on the 22nd of September 2010. Aniston will reportedly be seen in a single episode which is likely to be telecast on 22nd September. Bill Lawrence, the executive producer for the show confirmed the news saying that Aniston will be playing a shrink named Bonnie. Aniston’s character is the kind that gets too involved in her patient’s life. Lawrence stated that the actors most probably did that anyway as they were great friends in real life too. He also added that both Courtney and Jennifer are very excited to come together after ‘Friends’ again. They are also creatively involved in the character of ‘Bonnie’ and thrash out new ideas every day.

The two actors had become close when they featured in a NBC Comedy show which ran from 1994 to 2004. They also collaborated together in ‘Dirt’ which was on air in 2007. It had been a FX show which starred Cox.

Jennifer Aniston, now 41 is also the godmother of Cox’s daughter Coco. She is also currently promoting her upcoming film ‘Switch’.

‘Cougar Town’ had been pulled off air in April by Channel Seven when its viewership dropped down from 1.4 million to 626,000. The spokesperson for the channel had said that the show is likely to return later this year.
