Jeff Bridges wins the Best Actor Award at the 82nd Academy Awards

Jeff Bridges Beverly Hills, Mar 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jeff Bridges has won the Best Actor Award for ‘Crazy Heart’. When he went to collect his award, then he was completely overjoyed on the stage. After accepting the award, he thanked his mom and dad. He spoke about his mom who loved showbiz, and his passionate dad who taught him the basics of acting. He said that this award is honoring them, as much as the award is honoring his craft. He then proceeded to thank a lot of people who worked on the movie and made it such a great experience. He also thanked his team, which looks after him.

The other nominees in this category were George Clooney in ‘Up in the Air’, and Colin Firth in ‘A Single Man’ and Morgan Freeman in Invictus and Jeremy Renner in ‘The Hurt Locker’. After Jeff Bridges won the award and went to collect it, then the charismatic George Clooney looked a bit dejected, over the fact that the award had eluded him.

Jeff Bridges has had 5 Oscar nominations so far. He had gotten his 4th Academy Award for the movie ‘The Contender’. And in 2010 he won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama.

The venue of the 82nd Academy Awards is the Kodak Theatre. In this eventful evening, many winners have already been announced. The funny guys – Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, are hosting the Award ceremony. Whenever they come onto the stage, then their appearance itself makes a few people in the audience giggle, and when they say something funny, then the whole theatre erupts into laughter.
