Jeff Bridges Thanks Father Lloyd Bridges While Accepting Best Actor Oscar

jeffLos Angeles, Mar 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Much acclaimed actor Jeff Bridges bagged the Best Actor Award at the 82nd Academy Awards on Sunday night, for his true to life portrayal of an alcoholic country musician in “Crazy Heart”. The 60 year old actor, who is the son of screen star Lloyd Bridges, registered the well deserved honor for the first time after being nominated on three previous occasions.

After being declared as the winner in the leading actor category, Jeff Bridges took the stage in a rather animated mood as he was seen almost jumping with joy while grasping the golden trophy. While accepting the award, the overjoyed actor went on to thank his parents, late actor Lloyd Bridges and mother- late actress Dorothy Bridges, to have introduced him to the amazing world of cinema and recalled how his father would teach him the fundamentals of acting. The “Iron Man” star also exclaimed that by bestowing him with the award, the jury had also recognized the contribution that his parents had made in his success.

Jeff Bridges received the Oscar for his scintillating performance in the Scott Cooper directed flick in which he plays the role of a down and out country singer, who attempts to bring his life back in control as he searches for redemption. His amazing portrayal enabled him to dominate the award season this time. The other actors who received nomination in the Best Actor category but lost to the “Crazy Heart” star includes George Clooney for “Up In The Air”, Colin Firth for “A Single Man”, Morgan Freeman for “Invictus” and Jeremy Renner for “The Hurt Locker”.
