J.Dey, Josy Joseph get Prem Bhatia Award

New Delhi, Aug 11 (IANS) Late Mid-Day crime reporter J. Dey and the Times of India journalist Josy Joseph were Thursday jointly presented the prestigious Prem Bhatia Award for excellence in political reporting for 2011.

National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon presented the awards to the two journalists at a function here.

Dey was conferred the award posthumously for excellence in reporting on the underworld of the country’s financial capital.

He had served in several major newspapers of the country, including the Indian Express and the Hindustan Times, before he joined Mid-Day.

Joseph, who authored major expose on the 2010 Commonwealth Games loot and on Mumbai’s Adarsh Housing Society scam, began his career at rediff.com, shifted to the DNA before he joined the Times of India.
