May 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jay-Z and Betty White came together this weekend on the stage of “Saturday Night Live”. There is hardly any doubt about the fact that the show was a hit, more reason to rejoice was the fact that the episode of SNL generated the highest ratings for the NBC show when compared to its other episodes since November 2008.

With Jay-Z belting out several of his hit numbers and the Hollywood comic legend at her humorous best, “Saturday Night Live” very successfully grabbed a number of eyeballs throughout America. Some of the numbers to which the rapper performed on stage were ‘99 Problems’, ‘On To The Next One’ and ‘Public Service Announcement’. Not to forget his performance to the ‘Empire State of Mind’ in which he was joined in a chorus by Bridget Kelly.

Jay-Z also appeared on stage for a second time, this time with Mr Hudson in tow. The song for the second round was ‘Forever Young’ and who else could the legendary rapper dedicate it to but the host for the night, the 88 year old Betty White. Well it hardly makes a difference that Jay-Z is almost half the age of Betty White and the latter continuously mentioned her age all through last night’s episode in reference to her long career with Hollywood and the old lady’s personality that she so likes sporting these days.

It was supposedly rumored that the guest host and the guest performer would meet up after the end of the episode to work on certain sketches of the show. Though that never took place, it did not prevent the two from becoming one of the most hit pairs of SNL.
