Oct. 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Alicia Keys and Jay-z rocked the stadium even before the Yankees did. The whole stadium [which was overcrowded] gave out to the Big Apple anthem, “Empire State Of Mind”. The song is originally filled up with slang words, but as promised, the singers kept it quite clean for the crowds. Jay-z wore his trademark hat and jacket, rooting for his team [which lost a game on Wednesday]. He said “I made the Yankees hat more famous than a Yankee can”, which certainly is true. The audience had there fair share of celebs, which included Bruce Willis and Swizz Beatz. They both enjoyed the performance as much as anyone else did. Keys joined Jay-z after her performance at the piano. The stadium had large screens with the city’s images on them.

The singer even gave the audience a piece of sarcasm saying, “Y’all ain’t gonna be into that song next week.” He even selected a person from the stands to put up a wager regarding the game. He also acknowledged Michael Vick, leaving out Jimmy Rollins and Ryan Howard.

Martinez continued with his warm up session and did not even flinch when the singers emerged behind him. At the end, Jay said “Lets go” and moved to the stadium’s bowels to climb into the waiting Maybach and ride out. The timing was perfect for the Yankees. Jeter used the “Empire State Of Mind” as his “at-bat” song and Rodriguez stepped up in the batter’s box with the song “Already home” playing. Jay-Z’s albums are the current faves among the music lovers right now. The singers were suppose to appear the night before, but the weather rained out on them.
