Dec. 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actor and comedian Jay Thomas appeared on the “The Late Show With David Letterman” on Wednesday, Dec. 24. This is part of the ritual that is followed by David Letterman annually; before Christmas every year, he invites the actor on his show. The only time that the actor missed out on attending his annual event was in 2007, when the Writers Guild went on a strike at this time of the year.

Other than Jay Thomas, David Letterman will also have on his show as guests the singer Darlene Love and Alec Baldwin, who will be present as part of the promotional for his latest movie “It’s Complicated.” Darlene Love performed her hit single “Christmas, Baby Please Come Home”, right in tune to the festive mood of the season. Actor Alec Baldwin spoke at length about the new film, answering the witty questions of the host. The festively decorated set reflected the mood of the festive season.

However, the pick of the night was the actor and comedian Jay Thomas, who was at his humorous best, his mannerisms keeping the audience, the host and the other guests in splits. The high point of the show was when Jay Thomas aimed a football at the uniquely decorated Christmas tree on the sets. The tree had been decorated with the usual paraphernalia of Christmas, glittering balls, festoons, stars.. the whole hog. However, at the top was a pizza, meatballs and an effigy of the Empire State Building, that Jay Thomas attempted to knock down with the football. As is the custom, he then launched to tell a story, garnished with his usual uniquely funny style.
