Jay Marioti Arrested After Altercation With Girlfriend

Aug 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Well known ESPN reporter Jay Mariotti was arrested on Saturday night for reportedly abusing his girlfriend physically. He has been arrested on charges of felony and released on $50,000 bail. Considering the amount paid for the bail it is clear that the charges against the sports columnist and TV personality are quite serious.
A police officer revealed that Jay Mariotti was arrested on early Saturday after a ‘domestic incident’. He was granted bail around Saturday afternoon. The 51 year old was locked up by the LA police after an altercation with his girlfriend turned into an assault by the time the couple reached their LA house. The police were called in the wee hours of the morning and they immediately took Jay Mariotti into custody and slammed ‘domestic abuse’ charges against him. A local resident weighed in by saying that what Jay Mariotti has done could cost him a lot of work.
Jay Mariotti is a well known face on ESPN and also a popular sports columnist with AOL. He is known for his stance in favor of Tiger Woods when it was revealed that the golfer is abusive towards his wife. He is a panelist on the show ‘Around the Horn’. He was also a columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times for a significant period. Both Jay Mariotti and his girlfriend could not be contacted by the media for comment but it has been speculated that more details about the incident will trickle in on the days to come. ESPN and AOL have refused to comment on the matter to the media as well.
