Jan 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The brouhaha over the show timing in NBC’s late night show being over, host Jay Leno is all set to take up new roles that are coming to him. He was not too pleased with the way NBC network shifted the timing of his show after canceling one. While his colleague Conan O’ Brien decided to call it quits over the issue, Jay Leno has stuck around. However, he has some interesting offers in his hand which he would enjoy doing. In a recent development, he was selected as the White House Correspondents Dinner’s keynote presenter. This is a prestigious event held each year to give the due honor to deserving journalists who deal with US political news coverage. Generally, the President gives a laughter provoking speech each year, but comedian Jay Leno may pose a serious challenge to him in that department.
However, it is not the first time Leno would be attending the Dinner. The event has seen a number of eminent media personalities acting as the keynote presenter like Craig Ferguson, David Letterman, Ray Romano and Stephen Colbert etc. It will take place at Washington Hilton on April 24. The event comes as a whiff of fresh air for the comedian who spent some harrowing time dealing with the spat with NBC and his co-host.
He has also been selected as the new host for the Tonight Show. If the latest reports are to be believed, Oprah Winfrey may soon take his interview for one of her upcoming shows. Either way, Jay Leno will get lot of media coverage.
