Jay Leno Los Angeles, Jan 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) There is speculation rife that the Jay Leno show might get shuffled up or might even be canceled. It might also be moved back to the 11:35 pm ET slot. It now airs at 10 pm.

“The Jay Leno Show,” has had very low and uninspiring ratings since it made its debut in September. So NBC is looking to shake up things a bit, and though things are not totally decided as of now, but Jay Leno is a possible candidate. And if Jay Leno’s show is moved up, then all the other late night shows would have also to be shuffled up, and this includes “The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien” and “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.”

Times reported that NBC wants to move Leno’s show to the later start time and shrink it to 30 minutes from its current hour-long configuration, knocking O’Brien to 12:05 a.m.

“We have the best comedy team in the business,” NBC spokeswomen Rebecca Marks said. “We remain committed to keeping Conan O’Brien on NBC. He is a valued part of our late-night lineup, as he has been for more than 16 years and is one of the most respected entertainers on television.”

Jay Leno seemed quite miffed with the speculations, and he joked about it, in his usual fashion.” As you may have heard, there’s a rumor floating around we were canceled. I heard it coming in this morning on the radio,” Leno said during his monologue. “So far, nobody said anything to me, but … you know, if we did get canceled, it would give us some time to maybe do some traveling. In fact, I understand FOX is beautiful this time of year.”
