July 8, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): American actress January Jones, who is well known for her character Betty Draper image on TV series ‘Mad Men’, seems to have a soft corner for the sharks. In fact, she had been passionate about the ocean and even wanted to be an Oceanographer once in her life.
In a recent interview, ‘The Boat That Rocked’ star has informed about her campaign to help the sharks. Last year, Jones joined an ocean conservation organization called ‘Oceana’. Now, as she is a popular actress, January uses her celebrity status to the things done for the sharks and the ocean.
The actress went to Washington to try for the ‘Shark Conservation Act’ getting passed. She even had a meeting with the US Senator John McCain and managed to get co-sponsorship from him for the bill. Earlier, the bill got delayed due to short of support and many or you can say for the lack of a hot woman like January Jones.
Jones was if the endorsements by a celebrity had made an impact, she replied, “I think, it has an impact if the celebrity is really passionate about it.
It seems that the ‘Mad Men’ star is not only passionate about acting but also has some feeling for the huge sea animal and she really wants to do something for them.
January has always been criticized for looking good only as an American housewife Betty Draper, even if she wears capri pants and stained Keds. She was not appreciated for her other glamorous looks as she makes a picture perfect American housewife.
