Apr 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake’s performance at the Superbowl XXXVIII has kept a lot of people talking since the show was staged in the year 2004. People over the years, were discussing less about their performance together and more about Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction. According to latest reports, the wardrobe malfunction case is still being discussed at large in the courts. This is because CBS, where the show was aired in February 2004 is still fighting over the $550,000 fine that was levied against the network after the incident took place.
CBS’ lawyer spoke on behalf of the channel saying that the network has nothing to do with the accident which took place during the performance. It was a mishap which had exposed Janet Jackson’s nudity for a fleeting nine-sixteenths of a second. On the other hand, lawyer Jacob Lewis speaking on behalf of the FCC has said that what he is really concerned about is not the length of the nudity but the repercussions such acts may produce in society. Jacob Lewis claims that CBS may have been aware of the incident which was to take place on stage that day, having issued a prior warning for “shocking surprises” during the stars’ performance.
The Janet Jackson “Nipplegate” incident, as it popularly came to be known over the years, has come to the spotlight yet again because producers of the reality TV show “Dancing With The Stars” issued a warning to Pamela Anderson, who is to perform on the show to dress properly so that the “Nipplegate” incident is not repeated all over again.
