2145 Los Angeles, July 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Janet Jackson is suddenly in the news for all the wrong reasons. She had lapped up a lucrative contract with the fur firm BlackGlama, but now this has upset the PETA officials no end.

On Thursday she was announced as the spokes model of the brand, and the face of the brand’s initiative – ‘What Becomes a Legend Most?’ According to reports, Janet Jackson would model high-quality mink coats for the company.

And this move has angered the PETA officials no end. They think that celebrities shouldn’t sign on to become brand ambassadors for the limelight and for a quick buck, esp. when their career is on a downhill. The PETA spokesperson Amanda Schinke said that, “Surely she knows enough about suffering and unjustified death to recognise that both occur in the production of a fur coat. We are asking her to think again and to donate these stolen skins to be used as bedding for animals orphaned by other human-caused disasters, such as loss of habitat.”

However oblivious to all the PETA furor Janet Jackson seemed upbeat about her new role and tweeted about it on the popular social networking and microblogging site Twitter that, “I hope u enjoy my new photos for Blackgama. Love u!”
