New York, Aug 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jane Fonda has admitted that she was affected negatively when she overheard her father criticize her body. The actress said she developed low self esteem following the comment and she became obsessed with improving her looks.

In an interview with You magazine, Jane said that, “I was brought up to feel fat, though my father wouldn’t tell me directly. He’d get one of his wives to tell me that I shouldn’t wear a bikini. One day, I overheard him talking about me and I can’t even tell you what he said because it traumatized me…”

Jane is a fitness guru and she has been married three times. She said none of her husbands ever knew she was struggling with eating disorder. She explained that she became addicted to food because she was missing something in her life.

Jane is the daughter of actor Henry Fonda. Fonda who was famous in Hollywood married five times.

Jane explained that she moved through a lot of stages before she finally moved out of her eating disorder. She admitted hiding her struggle with bulimia. She said she has now overcome her inferiority complex but she said it took a lot of work on her part to do so.
