Jamie Oliver’s restaurant is vandalised

London, Aug 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) One of the branches of Jamie Oliver’s restaurant is among the shops and properties that has been destroyed in the violence in London. The branch is located in Birmingham and shortly after learning of the fate of his business Oliver tweeted and condemned the action.

He said that, “My love and thoughts go out to everyone effected by these riots,and all the people I work with who are in the thick of it …be safe ……. Sadly my restaurant in Birmingham got smashed up windows all gone whole area closed, can’t open, staff and customers all safe!! Thankfully.”

London and surrounding towns have been thrown into state of rioting for days. Several businesses have been destroyed in the riots. Prime Minister David Cameron has recalled the country’s parliament as he seeks to get the country back into normal state.

Several people including Lord Sugar, CNN’s Piers Morgan and Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand have all added their voice for calm to be restored to the country.

The rioting has resulting in the injury to about 44 police personnel with four of them said to be in critical condition. The police have arrested 450 people so far. About 16,000 police personnel have been deployed into the streets of London.
